Chef Shane’s bold flavors are now in a brick-and-mortar spot after 13 years on the road. Taste the passion in Reno, Nevada!
- Chef Shane: I cut my culinary teeth catering for entertainers such as The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, George Straight, Willie Nelson, etc. In 2012, I started the Reno/Tahoe-based and wildly successful catering company, the Big Blue Q of Tahoe.
With our mobile kitchens hitting the road several times a week all year long, it became a beast doing 150-175 events a year! While the mobile kitchens were somewhat of a luxury in our industry, they are also limited in how you can present your food and what food you can serve. The client picks their meal, and rightly so.
There are so many menu items that I've wanted to serve and rarely got the opportunity. After 13 years of pulling a mobile kitchen, loading and unloading, and loading again, it was time to make the big move to a brick-and-mortar location. Hence, the Reno Bar and Grill was born!
Passion For Service
Customer service and unique food offerings have always been my passion! I look forward to exposing our guests to some amazing and truly unique culinary offerings such as our Feta and Spinach Stuffed Lollipop Lamb Chops, Lion's Mane ''Chicken Wings'', Chicken Skin Nachos, and more!
Cooking Anything You'd Like
With the Big Blue Q of Tahoe, I encouraged our clients to choose whatever food they'd like for their event. If they'd had something at a restaurant, I would replicate it. The same holds true of the Reno Bar and Grill. I have a 10-foot long ''Chef's Table'' in the restaurant and will cook just about anything with at least 2 weeks' notice for up to 14 people! Shrimp Boils, Whole Alligator, you name it!
